It's the weekend!!

Mommy made it through week 1 with flying colors. As much as I hated to leave my little man, I'm enjoying being back in a routine. It is no fun only having a few hours a night with him but knowing he's in good hands at daycare makes it much easier. It has also wears him out! He usually falls asleep on the way home then wakes up to eat and then we play for awhile. Before you know it, its bathtime, last bottle, then bedtime. He is sleeping very well also. He has a new friend at daycare, Bella, who thinks she's his little momma! It is so cute!!
Today Grandma Ackerman, Aunt Cathy, Great-Gma Sharon, an d Becky had a shower for us. He got a super cool red wagon too that we're super excited about! Lots of new clothes and books too!! He was such a good boy and just let everyone pass him around like a little doll. There were a lot of comments too that he looked like Grandpa Chuck. We had a great time!
We are SO over the snow....mommy signed up to run her first 5k in April and she is so ready to get outside and run. Cale said he's ready to get outside and go for walks too:) And the dog is probably the most excited!
Cale has found his tongue! It is so cute how he sticks it out and licks like "what's this thing!" He is getting so strong and lifting his head up. During tummy time he looks like super man lifting his head and legs up. He's really able to focus on things now too.
Pics to come soon...He's got his bibs from Aunt Katie on right now and is way too stinking cute!

Daycare Day 1

On the way to Donna's

Tuckered OUT!
Mommy went back to work full-time today:( However...he was in very good hands at Donna's and he did great. Aaron was a great help in the a.m. to get him ready so I could get myself ready and we were perfectly on time! I called early afternoon and he was doing great. She said he was "just so much fun!" All the kids were anxiously awaiting him and excited to check him out when we got there. Mommy didn't even cry cause she knew he was in such great hands!
Now...we will cuddle until bedtime..yaa!!!

2 months appointment

My First pair of Jeans:)

Cale had his two month appointment today and he's doing great! His stats are as follows--

Length: 21 1/2in (5th Percentile)
Weight: 11lb 61/2 oz
Head Circ.: 37.7
He also got his shots and was a trooper...the first one I don't think he realized what was going on then he screamed! Mommy's grade school friend was his nurse and she was great to him. We just love Dr. Melvin, his pediatrician. Oh..and he peed all over the wall while he was getting weighed! So proud:)

This week I went back to work part time...it wasn't bad because he was with my mom and I'm used to leaving him with her. I missed him of course but it was nice to have adult time. Next week will be the rough week when we take him to daycare but we trust our sitter...it's just going to be hard leaving him with someone he doesn't know. I'm sure he'll be just fine though.

Still no smile:( He did roll over on Wednesday (1/19) though from belly to back. He did it twice for me and then did it for Aaron a few times. After that he got SUPER mad at us! He was so over it.

He's sleeping now...we're hoping for another 4 hour night. He went back to every 3 hours for a few nights which was rough but he did fine last night. It usually depends on what kind of day he's had. He slept quite a bit all day cause we were shopping (I think he gets bored:) ) so hopefully he still sleeps ok tonight. If not...that's just fine cause we can cuddle all night!
I'm working on getting a video sight going to post all of our videos. I'm still trying to figure it all out:) I need to be better about taking videos too. I'm thinking I need a new computer...mine kind of sounds like an airplane right now...eeks!

goodnight for now:)

Mommy's 1st first partial day back

Today wasn't as bad as expected. I only went in for a few hours and my mom came to our house to watch him so it wasn't too tragic. Next Monday (1/24) is going to be the tear jerker daycare drop off:( and it will be for all day....

Also--he has totally been cooing a lot more. He's a noisy baby...not sure where he gets that:) And when he cries or whimpers and we do fun things with him (i liked to pretend he's playing baseball and we pretend we're running the bases) he calms down and looks around. He LOVES lights and ceiling fans. This morning he gave me a half smile...and when I laid him down he smiled a few times. Do I count that as his first smile? I was thinking more like when he smiles AT us...but it's a start!

Tonight we went and visited grammy Barb's co-worker and her new baby, Cristin and Ian Gaines. On the way home the roads were SUPER slick. I was scared to go over Glover bridge the entire way and as I went to go up it my car slid and almost hit a sign...luckily no cars were around me so I backed that puppy up and went the country way home. I think that was a sign I needed to avoid that bridge cause when I got home I heard there had been an accident on it. THANK GOODNESS! I am SOOO over this crappy weather:(

The sleeping schedule is not going quite as well as it used to. The past three nights he's only slept for THREE hour stretches...what happened to the four, sometimes five or six?!

Speaking of...another fun day of work tomorrow....off to eat then bed we go!

Last day of Maternity leave

Well...tomorrow's the day I go back to work:( I'm not happy about it and I keep begging Aaron to let me stay home but if the baby wants to eat...mommy better go back to work:) On a positive note my position changed while I was on leave...not sure if this is good or bad yet but we'll give it a whirl!
Just put the baby down for the night...we're trying for an earlier bedtime tonight. Who knows how it will go! Today we went shopping with Grammy...mommy's feet grew an ENTIRE size so she doesn't have work shoes. Unfortunately we didn't have good luck either. This past weekend Aaron went to the tractor pull with my dad. Before they left Cale was screaming...we joked that he was pouting and stomping his feet "I want to go to the tractor pull with my dad!". Before long that will really be the case. He's just getting so big so fast. He was so tiny when he was born and now his thighs have filled out....he even has chubby fingers!

He's started following things from side to side. He even will follow a person as they move too...like when I leave a room he watches me. Luckily he doesn't cry when that happens. I'm so nervous to leave him next week. I know he'll be in good hands and I totally trust our sitter I just know he hasn't spent any time with her and I'm worried. I'm sure he'll be fine it's just SO scary! I'll probably be calling every hour to make sure he's okay. Ah!!

Ok better go lay my clothes out cause I'm sure I'll be running behind in the a.m. Luckily my mom is coming here to watch him so it won't be too bad. And i'm only working half the day! Wish me luck!
Friday is his 2 month appointment....will post again then. For now here are a few pics...I'm SO big...first time in Bumbo....1/16/2011
I hope this was just pure accident but boy does he look serious!!

Last week before Mommy goes back:(

This is the last week off...I guess only a few days before I go back to work:( I'm ready to get into a routine but not ready to leave him. This week we are working on him smiling...i'm sure it will happen my 1st day back to work...uggh!!!

So this week I was reflecting on pregnancy and thought I would jot down what I miss and don't miss about being pregnant.
Miss:
1. People talking to you about it, asking questions, etc. I loved to share how it was going or even just strangers discussing it with you.
2. Feeling the baby move.
3. Anticipation of what the baby looks like.
4. My husband waiting on me and hand and foot:)
5. Not worrying about your clothes not fitting.

Don't miss:
1. Peeing ALL the time.
2. Not being able to put my socks and shoes on without a huge fight.
3. Waddling.
4. Wondering what labor would be like and if I could take the pain.
5. Not being able to eat certain foods (ex: Jimmy John's)

I'm sure there's more but those were the ones that came to my head earlier today as I was doing things throughout the day.

Cale is due to wake up in half an hour (which would be 10:30) to eat. I'm would love it if he would stay asleep until at least 5 tonight. Last night he slept 5 hours straight...so that may be a stretch but hey, a girl can dream :) He's been holding his head up for minutes straight now which is awesome. Today we did the airplane move and he just looked around like "whoa haven't seen things from this view yet!"

Tata for now...must go make a bottle before he screams!
Oh...and I lost 6lbs this week...yay!!! My goal is to be able to put his diaper on while on the ground and not be out of breath from bending over...he is my motivation!!

Mommy's photo shoot with me

Before we had Cale, I got a new camera that I'm still learning how to use. So today we had a mini photo shoot to see if I could figure out the settings. Cale doesn't LOVE getting his picture taken so it didn't last very long but we got a few cute ones. Maybe if Mommy had enough patience to sit down and read the manual it wouldn't be so difficult! Enjoy:)
