Okay so I'm sure this is common but to me it was hilarious! Monday morning I put Cale in his carseat WITH his hat on. While driving to Donna's I heard him grunting and squirming around...thought maybe he was brewing up a nice gift for her:) Instead...when I got to her house and went to get him out, I couldn't find his hat. I thought maybe he scooted out of it and all be dang if he didn't take that hat OFF and put it by his feet. Maybe his feet were cold?! I was just amazed he had the ability to take it off and throw it that far!
Daddy has been gone since Monday:( He's in Iowa for work and boy do we miss him. Since he doesn't always read this...I'll tell ya I definitely realize how much of a help he is when he is home!! My mom stayed with me which was a HUGE help and by day 2 she had our routine down but day one we ran a little late:) Our little man is getting SO strong. He's starting to do what I call push-ups...and then he face plants which sometimes leads to an unhappy baby but not always:) He's not big on being held next to your chest...he likes to arch his back and look around. Then he smacks you in the face or chin and I'm sure that's not good for his poor head. Donna said he's just been smiling more and more and the kids like to make him smile. He also likes all the bright colors on TV. I'm thinking I need to get some "education" TV material!
Today could possibly be the COLDEST day of the year...ugh! It was -9 in my car this morning:( I'm SOOO ready for nice weather. I told Aaron as soon as it warms up we are walking every evening. I am so ready for nice evening walks! I think the poor dog is too.
Cale's going to his second toy tractor show with daddy Saturday. Aarons braving it alone with him since I have to work. I'm interested to see how it goes:)
Back to work...ta-ta for now!!

Mommy Needs a Date Night
Mommy and Daddy had a "date night" this weekend while Cale stayed at my parents. We went to Aaron's work banquet in Bloomington and well...let's just say we thoroughly enjoyed the open bar:) They must have worn him out cause he was prepped for a nap when we go home before our superbowl party yesterday. We just went for the commercials (and the food!) since we aren't HUGE football fans...and I was quite disappointed:(
We are all finally feeling better and these colds are going away! YAHOO!! Get outta here you nasty things!
Aaron leaves for a work trip Tuesday-late Thursday so Grammy Barb is going to help me. I'm not sure I can't do it all alone for 3 days yet.
We have a smiley little boy now!!! I was SO paranoid because he had not been smiling but Friday morning he was all smiles. Donna even said he smiled at her that day also. I haven't gotten a picture yet:( but hopefully once he's ALWAYS smiling I can get one posted on here! He's just getting so big and time is going fast (as they always say!). Cale is now drinking 6ounces at a time...and today he had a 3-6 mo. outfit on! We haven't even gotten through the 0-3 months clothes yet!!
Hopefully the rest of the week brings a lot more smiles and maybe even a laugh!!

Dear Nasty Colds,
We sure would like it if you would leave our house. Daddy has had it, mommy is getting it, and baby Cale has a snotty nose:( You are no longer welcome and have overextended your stay. I want my happy baby back.
Love,
The Ackerman Family
On a positive note....The snow is trying to melt. Woohoo!! We are SOOO over snow. With this nasty weather brought these nasty colds. Poor baby can't breath out of his nose and gets SUPER mad when we trying to suction it out. It is definitely no fun. However...he was smiling this morning. I've been super paranoid about his lack of smiling but this morning he smiled at me three times which is huge for a sick baby! He was fairly content which made me feel better but when I dropped him off at daycare he started crying:( Luckily we haven't had to beat a fever which has probably made it easier. Hopefully he's all better this weekend for his stay at Grammy and Grandpa's while mommy and daddy go out of town for a banquet.
On a negative note...they are predicting more snow next week....NOOOO!!!
Hopefully the next post we have no more SNOT or SNOW!
Adios!

Finally Some Pictures!
*SNOW DAY*!!!!
YAY for snow days! I feel like i'm on maternity leave all over again!
While we're snowed in I plan on uploading pics to the blog and figuring out where I should upload our videos!
Cale has found his voice! yay...he sounds like an owl. It's way too cute! I'm not used to being home with him and I can't believe how awake he is all the time. I love it...however...I need to workout which requires a sleeping baby.
I've lost 8lbs...woohoo!! Got to keep up the good work!
Back to the shutterfly book...I'll be back soon to upload pictures!

It's the weekend!!
Mommy made it through week 1 with flying colors. As much as I hated to leave my little man, I'm enjoying being back in a routine. It is no fun only having a few hours a night with him but knowing he's in good hands at daycare makes it much easier. It has also wears him out! He usually falls asleep on the way home then wakes up to eat and then we play for awhile. Before you know it, its bathtime, last bottle, then bedtime. He is sleeping very well also. He has a new friend at daycare, Bella, who thinks she's his little momma! It is so cute!!
Today Grandma Ackerman, Aunt Cathy, Great-Gma Sharon, an d Becky had a shower for us. He got a super cool red wagon too that we're super excited about! Lots of new clothes and books too!! He was such a good boy and just let everyone pass him around like a little doll. There were a lot of comments too that he looked like Grandpa Chuck. We had a great time!
We are SO over the snow....mommy signed up to run her first 5k in April and she is so ready to get outside and run. Cale said he's ready to get outside and go for walks too:) And the dog is probably the most excited!
Cale has found his tongue! It is so cute how he sticks it out and licks like "what's this thing!" He is getting so strong and lifting his head up. During tummy time he looks like super man lifting his head and legs up. He's really able to focus on things now too.
Pics to come soon...He's got his bibs from Aunt Katie on right now and is way too stinking cute!

Daycare Day 1

On the way to Donna's

Tuckered OUT!
Mommy went back to work full-time today:( However...he was in very good hands at Donna's and he did great. Aaron was a great help in the a.m. to get him ready so I could get myself ready and we were perfectly on time! I called early afternoon and he was doing great. She said he was "just so much fun!" All the kids were anxiously awaiting him and excited to check him out when we got there. Mommy didn't even cry cause she knew he was in such great hands!
Now...we will cuddle until bedtime..yaa!!!
